DAY ONE - WELCOME TO AUCKLAND!
Welcome to Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’. Auckland offers all of the things associated with a sophisticated cosmopolitan city, from beautiful scenery to adrenaline pumping adventure - and first-class food and wine.
You'll stay one night at a 3 star hotel located in the heart of central Queen Street and surrounded by shops, theatres and restaurants, with Viaduct Harbour, ferry terminals and Vector Arena just a short walk away.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR CRUISE
View the stunning city sights while sailing on the inner Waitemata Harbour. The crew's local knowledge will provide the best harbour sailing experience Auckland has to offer. Sail where the wind takes you while enjoying Auckland's city highlights; including sailing under the harbour bridge. Sit back and relax or become the crew and help participate with the sailing experience.
DAY TWO - AUCKLAND TO ROTORUA AND WAITOMO CAVES TOUR
Today you will travel south from Auckland through the rich farmland of the Waikato on to Waitomo. After your lunch stop (lunch own expense) begin your guided tour through the long galleries and lofty chambers of the Caves. Your tour continues with a boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, illuminated by thousands of tiny lights from the glowworms suspended from the cave ceiling. After your visit reboard your coach and continue on to Rotorua.
This evening enjoy a Maori cultural experience. It is a feast of cultural richness and entertainment and Maori kai (indigenous food). Feel the spirit of Te Puia at night and experience our heritage - a living legacy of people, culture and place.
DAY THREE - DISCOVER ROTORUA MORNING SIGHTSEEING
Today you will go on a half day morning tour of Rotorua's leading attractions with visits to Te Puia and the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute where you can view mighty geysers, boiling mud pools, and the traditional arts & culture of the Maori People. You’ll visit Rainbow Springs - a unique showcase of New Zealand's flora and fauna including New Zealand's national icon, the kiwi bird; and the Agrodome Sheep Show a hands-on experience giving you an animated insight into New Zealand's farming history. At the end of the tour you will be returned to your accommodation.
DAY FOUR - WELCOME TO QUEENSTOWN!
Fly Rotorua to Queenstown (flights noti ncluded). Queenstown is the Southern Hemisphere's premiere four season alpine and lake resort. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and overlooked by the majestic Remarkables Range, Queenstown is the perfect destination all year round. Stay 2 nights in a 3-star hotel in the town center and a 10 minute drive from Queenstown International Airport.
DAY FIVE - MILFORD SOUND
Milford Sound is a world-renowned natural wonder where mountains stand tall, straight out of the sea. Luxuriant rainforest clings to sheer rock walls and waterfalls tumble hundreds of meters to the sea below. Whatever the fiord’s mood – brooding and wet, or tranquil in the sunshine – it will inspire you. Depart Queenstown by luxury glass-roofed coach and enjoy a relaxing trip along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Te Anau. Have a short break in Te Anau and then follow the spectacular Milford Road. On reaching Milford Sound board a luxury vessel for a cruise the full-length of Milford Sound. The vessel provides excellent viewing opportunities and plenty of time is available to enjoy waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife. Return to Milford Wharf, reboard your coach for the return journey to Queenstown.
DAY SIX - WELCOME TO MELBOURNE!
Fly Queesntown to Melbourne (flights not included). Australia’s second-largest city, Melbourne boasts great festivals and shopping, a passion for food and wine, and fabulous arts. Outside Melbourne, you’ll find a host of regional attractions, from the Little Penguins to the spectacular Great Ocean Road. Melbourne is set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay. The city itself, laid out in a large rectangle and boasting a lively and cosmopolitan pulse, sits on the northern banks of the Yarra River.
Stay 2 nights in a 3-star hotel within easy walking distance to great restaurants and cafés (chargeback facilities available with some restaurants in Southbank), impressive shopping and renowned art galleries.
DAY SEVEN - LITTLE PENGUIN PARADE TOUR WITH KANGAROOS AND KOALAS
Travel south of Melbourne, as we head to Westernport Bay en route to Warrook Cattle Farm. Hand-feed kangaroos. See sheep, cattle, Australian birds and wombats. Enjoy included Devonshire Tea of hot scones with tea or coffee. An Aussie BBQ lunch is also available (own expense). Visit koalas in their natural habitat at the Koala Conservation Centre as you stroll the boardwalk through our famous gumtrees. Travel through the town of San Remo and cross the only bridge to Phillip Island (home of our world Motorcycle Grand Prix track). See the Nobbies rock formations overlooking one of the most treacherous expanses of water in the world, Bass Strait. Watch the famous little penguins perform their nightly ritual at Summerland Beach, as they march up the sand to their nesting places. Visit the beautiful coastal town of Cowes for dinner (own expense), for a great selection of restaurants & cafes or Fish & Chips on the beach. Enjoy DVD entertainment on your return drive to Melbourne.
DAY EIGHT - WELCOME TO CAIRNS!
Fly Melbourne to Cairns (flights not inlcued). Cairns is the heart of Tropical North Queensland and is the primary gateway to Northern Australia & the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is framed by the spectacular twin backdrops of rainforest mountain ranges and the sparkling Coral Sea. It is a modern, sophisticated city, and is an ideal base to explore the wider Tropical North Queensland region and the World Heritage listed Reef, Rainforest and Outback. Stay 3 night ni a 3-star resort style hotel, nestled amongst an acre of lush tropical gardens in the very heart of Cairns.
DAY NINE- GREAT BARRIER REEF CRUISE
Today you’ll journey to a reef at the very edge of Australia's Continental Shelf, to an underwater world that is a dazzling kaleidoscope of color and brilliance. Agincourt Reef is a magnificent ribbon reef where you can experience firsthand the magic that is the Great Barrier Reef. You can choose to dive, snorkel, or stay dry and explore the stunning reef from the comfort of a semi-sub, just one meter underwater. Watch the fish feeding from a unique underwater viewing platform and underwater observatory or fly in a helicopter (additional cost) over the reef. Whatever you choose, this will be a day to remember!
DAY TEN - KURANDA SCENIC RAIL AND SKYRAIL
You’ll be picked up from your hotel to commence your Kuranda, Scenic Rail and Skyrail Tour. Travel to the railway station to board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. This breathtaking journey on one of the world's most scenic train routes will take you to Kuranda through hand hewn tunnels and across bridges with amazing views. View the Barron Falls before arriving at beautiful Kuranda Station. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore the "Village in the Rainforest". Explore the markets or visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and colorful Birdworld. At your scheduled time, board Skyrail for the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. Glide over the Rainforest canopy and take advantage of the two stops enroute to enjoy a walk through the rainforest or visit the CSIRO Interpretive Centre. Your journey ends at Caravonica Lakes, where your coach is waiting to take you back to your accommodation. Upon completion of the tour, you will be returned to your accommodation at approximately 5.00pm.
DAY ELEVEN - WELCOME TO SYDNEY!
Fly Cairns to Sydney (flights not included). Stylish Sydney…a cosmopolitan international city filled with vibrant life, character and a sense of daring. The multiculturalism means a wealth of amazing dining experiences. While you will find all the icons you know, such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, you will also find interesting people, cultural vibrancy and a positive spirit.
Stay 3 nights in a 3-star downtown hotel within easy walking distance of all major tourist attractions, shopping, restaurants, theatre and the commercial districts.
DAY TWELVE - SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE & SYDNEY HARBOUR CRUISE
See inside the world's most recognizable sails. Experience this miracle of architecture and engineering. A work of art that came into existence against impossible odds - to become one of the busiest performing arts centers in the world. Working with new, rich audio-visual components, where images are projected onto the fabric of the building - our guides will take you on an emotional journey, engrossing you in a story to rival any opera plot with its dramatic twists and turns.
This afternoon cruise to spectacular Middle Harbour - a must for all visitors to Sydney. This world renowned cruise to the upper reaches of Sydney Harbour, featuring magnificent waterfront homes and parklands, gives a comprehensive view of what Sydney is all about, and is a favorite with our international visitors.
DAY THIRTEEN - BLUE MOUNTAINS AND WILDLIFE PARK TOUR
You will be collected from your hotel to join today's full day Blue Mountains tour. Visit the award-winning Featherdale Wildlife Park - pat a cuddly koala. See amazing Australian animals including koalas, kangaroos, crocodiles. Enjoy fantastic photo opportunities and the chance to feed and interact with the animals! Relax on a gentle bushwalk at Govetts Leap - breathtaking views from the lookouts. See the historic township of Katoomba. Take in the spectacular scenery of Jamison and Megalong Valley. Take a ride on the world's steepest railway (own expense). See the Three Sisters rock formation. Discover the delightful village of Leura - explore the antique shops. After descending the mountains return to Sydney late afternoon.
DAY FOURTEEN - DEPART FOR HOME
