Itinerary

Itinerary

DAY ONE – WELCOME TO CAPE TOWN!

One of the world's most picturesque tourist destinations and most beautiful cities in the world. Cape Town is situated amidst majestic mountains and is surrounded by pristine white beaches.

You’ll be transferred to the Vineyard Hotel. With over 200 years of history within its walls, this deluxe hotel is situated in six acres of attractive landscaped parkland on the banks of the Liesbeek River. Located in the lush leafy suburb of Newlands, the Vineyard Hotel & Spa is within easy walking distance of the up-market Cavendish Shopping Centre and is just 10 minutes away from the City Centre and the popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. For dinner tonight, enjoy a relaxing welcome dinner at Myoga Restaurant

DAY TWO – CAPE TOWN

After breakfast you’ll be collected from the hotel for a morning walking tour of the city. We take you to a 17th century water reservoir, the historic Grand Parade lined by the Castle, old Drill Hall and magnificent City Hall; we introduce you to stunning architecture, murals, the popular flower market and the impressive Standard Bank Building.

This afternoon you’ll be collected for a visit to Table Mountain. The best views of Cape Town are seen from the top of Table Mountain. The Cableway summit is under 10 minutes and the cable car’s rotating floor ensures that all passengers have an aerial view of the city.

DAY THREE – CAPE TOWN

After breakfast you will be met by your guide at the hotel for a tour of Cape Town and surrounds. Travel via the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay, as well as Chapman’s Peak (dependant on the road being open) – one of the world’s most dramatic mountain drives offering amazing panoramic views over the city and environs.

Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, established in 1939 to protect 7750 ha of indigenous flora and fauna. The reserve comes to an end at majestic Cape Point. Situated at the junction of two of earth's most contrasting water masses - the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans.

Lunch will be enjoyed at the Boat House with Chef Robbertson where you will enjoy a lunch with wine paring. A charming Cape Cod-style beach house, The Boat House is a peaceful retreat, immersed in natural beauty and infused with an unusual sense of remoteness, bordered by the sea and rugged, rocky hillsides.

After lunch we will return to Cape Town and you will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

DAY FOUR – WINELANDS

Enjoy an early breakfast and then check out of the hotel, ready for a Winelands Tour. You’ll travel to Stellenbosch via Somerset West. The first wine estate visit of the tour will be the modern and chic Waterkloof Wine Estate. Sample the elegant wines and enjoy a tutored tasting conducted in the lounge or at your table. Lunch will enjoyed at the restaurant on the estate.

After lunch you will travel to Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch. This estate can be described as an all-encompassing sensory experience. The serene and tranquil atmosphere, consummate comfort, personal care and the award winning wines make a visit to Waterford incomparable.

Afterwards we will continue to your hotel their hotel, the Oude Werf Hotel. Established in 1802, Oude Werf is South Africa's oldest and most historic hotel and has defined hospitality and fine dining for centuries. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.

DAY FIVE – WINELANDS

After breakfast you will start the day travelling to Franschoek with a visit to the Hugeunot Museum. Here the Huguenot Memorial soars above perfectly manicured lawns and a calm pool of water. You will continue to the first wine farm visit for the day at Graham Beck wines. Situated in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, this farm benefits from the area’s Mediterranean climate. You will enjoy a guided tour of the cellar and wine making process.

From here the group will continue to the Solms Delta Wine Estate, outside the village of Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Enjoy a Vineyard, Cellar and Wine Tour. From Solms Delta we will continue in the direction of Paarl and the Fairview Wine and Cheese Farm. At Fairview guests will enjoy a relaxing Wine and Cheese tasting experience.

After lunch we continue to the Taal Monument for an informative guided tour of the site. The Taal monument, on Paarl rock, is one of the most famous Afrikaans monuments erected in South Africa and dedicated to the Afrikaans language. We then return to Stellenbosch and have the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure. Tonight enjoy a wine pairing dinner at Oude Werf.
